Library

The Collinsville Memorial Public Library (618-344-1112) is located at 408 West Main Street. Library Hours are Monday thru Friday 9 a.m.- 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. A library card is free to anyone living or owning property within the city limits of Collinsville. Non-residents may purchase a library card for $40 per year. The Library is a member of the Lewis and Clark Library System which provides service for over 800 libraries in Illinois through interlibrary loan for registered borrowers.

The Belleville News-Democrat (618-397-6615) is published daily and is available by subscription. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (618-235-7100) is published daily and is available by subscription. The Suburban Journal is published twice a week and is delivered to residences free of charge. The Riverfront Times, a weekly entertainment guide, is available at a variety of stores and restaurants free of charge.

Police Department

The City of Collinsville operates a 36 officer Police Department to protect and serve the residents and visitors of the City. The services provided by the Department include general assistance, criminal complaints, traffic enforcement, investigation, crime scene processing, dispatching, and animal control. Shuttle Bus

The City of Collinsville provides a free shuttle bus service to senior citizens (60 years and older) and the disabled. The bus runs within the city limits Monday-Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please call (618)346-5200 EXT 151.

Trash Collection

The City of Collinsville contracts with Midland Waste, a private trash hauler, to operate in the city limits. The service can be established at the same time as water and sewer service and is billed with these other services on a bi-monthly cycle by the City of Collinsville. Recycling services are also available. Yard waste pickup is available on a weekly basis. Residents who desire yard waste pickup must contract directly with Midland Waste for this service. The City of Collinsville provides water and sewer service for its residents. An $80 deposit is required for hook-up and billing is on a bi-monthly cycle.
